Even more challenging than growing plants is weed control. Here are some tips:
Regular pruning helps to improve the quality and size of flowers, fruits, leaves and stems. There are several plant groups, like shrubs, trees, climbers, hedges, roses, and fruits that need different treatments in different parts of the year. Some general rules of thumb may apply, but there are also lots of exceptions. Consult books or the internet, what is in the best interest of your shrubs or trees in your garden.
Always use the proper equipment and make sure it is sharp to make clean cuts, to prevent damage and bad re-growth. Also think about your own safety. Wear goggles and gloves if necessary and be carefull with (step)ladders and handling your equipment.
Pick up and remove all prunings. Try to burn them, especially those showing signs of disease or pest damage.

You can get your fresh produce from our farm and greenhouses in Arthur. Use the directions or business hours.
You also can get our fresh produce at several Farmers Markets.
Why let your meal travel the average distance of 2700 miles, while you get more freshness, lose less vitamins and nutrition when you can buy Ontario-grown produce around the corner. No strange treatments like irridiation, ripeners and-so-on but just the old-fashioned way, because mother nature takes care of that part.
Eat them fresh or prepare your own healthy '100-mile-meal' and taste how delicious real food is.
