Even more challenging than growing plants is weed control. Here are some tips:
Regular pruning helps to improve the quality and size of flowers, fruits, leaves and stems. There are several plant groups, like shrubs, trees, climbers, hedges, roses, and fruits that need different treatments in different parts of the year. Some general rules of thumb may apply, but there are also lots of exceptions. Consult books or the internet, what is in the best interest of your shrubs or trees in your garden.
Always use the proper equipment and make sure it is sharp to make clean cuts, to prevent damage and bad re-growth. Also think about your own safety. Wear goggles and gloves if necessary and be carefull with (step)ladders and handling your equipment.
Pick up and remove all prunings. Try to burn them, especially those showing signs of disease or pest damage.

The trees we grow and stock are available in containers.
Arthur Greenhouses also can provide trees on a larger scale project base, such as windbreaks from seedling to more mature trees. Those trees can be container grown, bare root or burlapped. Season availability can apply. Delivery and/or planting services are available for single trees or projects, please ask us about the possibilities.

Trees come in many sizes and varieties in shape, colours and blooms or fruits. Evergreens keep their leaves or needles all year round to others that lose the foliage in winter to reveal striking bark and stem colours.
Beside specimens, trees can also be used for providing fruit, screening or windbreaks. In summertime trees can save up to 25% energy by using the shade in stead of your air-conditioning!!!
